Plagiarism testing

Plagiarism is a ‘cut-copy-paste’(CCP) practice of directly picking up from other writers’ published work (proprietary or copyright protected) and projecting it as your own without acknowledging the original author. Widespread and easy availability of internet has further fuelled the CCP culture. Latter is clearly unethical and every researcher must resist this practice of least resistance which can land them into serious legal and professional penalties. Most reputed institutions and universities have made it mandatory to rule out plagiarism from submitted dissertation or thesis. To safeguard from any incidental or deliberate malpractice of plagiarism, there are many free or paid (like ‘Turnitin’, ‘iThenticate’) software programs.
